Towards the New Year 2023, I took part in the sound design for Andrey Goncharov’s production of "The Neverending Story", based on the novel of the same name by Michael Ende, at the Moscow Youth Theatre. Together with two fellow sound designers, we created musical and sound components from scratch for all scenes of the performance. The creative process took place in close dialogue with the director and actors: many decisions were made during rehearsals, right in the process of watching run-throughs. The music for the performance is a mix of original compositions and remakes of classic pop hits, performed by the actors themselves.

The premiere took place on January 14, 2023, and received excellent reviews from theatre critics and audiences, including specific praise for the sound design. After the premiere, all audio materials were handed over to the in-house sound department of the Moscow Youth Theatre. The performance remains part of the theatre’s regular repertoire.
