Contemporary Music Festivals
HSE Sound Design Laboratory
2021 – 2022

As part of my work at the HSE Sound Design Laboratory, I served as a producer and curator for a series of contemporary music festivals that took place at the Moscow club Powerhouse throughout the 2021 − 2022 season. The festivals were held approximately once every quarter and aimed to serve as a showcase for lesser-known young artists — both participants of the laboratory and invited guests. Each festival had its own theme, visual and sonic identity, and also served as a platform for collaborations between musicians and artists working in other media. Accordingly, the festivals featured works by painters, video art pieces, installations, and other artworks. A total of four festivals were held:

  1. Homecoming — 19.10.2021
  2. Groundhog Day — 02.02.2022
  3. Self-Distortion — 20.04.2022
  4. Druzhba — 03.07.2022

Each festival attracted over 200 visitors.

I was one of three producers responsible for creating and organizing these festivals. I oversaw a wide range of creative and organizational tasks, including developing the themes and aesthetics of the festivals, selecting artists, communicating with them and the venue, sourcing equipment, managing financial reporting, scheduling on the days of the events, and other duties.
